Vallejo between Franklin and Octavia

The Water Department responded to and repaired a water main leak on Webster Street at Pacific Avenue at about 7:30 am Friday, February 27. Water supply was restored to the residents at about 10 am.

Shaw Pipeline will begin sewer construction on Vallejo Street between Franklin and Octavia streets starting Monday, March 2nd while the water main construction on Broadway Street between Buchanan and Laguna streets will continue as scheduled.

The contractor has started water main construction on Broadway Street between and Buchanan and Laguna streets while the work outside Hamlin School is expected to complete by the end of February, 2009. The crew will come back at a later time for paving of that section of the street.

To accommodate the parents of Hamlin School dropping off their children on Monday, February 23rd after the school’s one-week break, two-lane traffic in both directions will be maintained on Broadway Street between Webster and Buchanan streets until 8:30 am. The contractor plans to complete the water main construction on that block no later than Tuesday, February 24th.

The contractor will open up the intersection of Webster and Lombard streets this week and expects to meet the construction schedule without adding night work hours. On the other hand, to reduce impacts to parents and students, a second crew will start working on Broadway Street between Webster and Octavia streets next week when the Hamlin School takes a one-week break from the President’s Day.

The contractor is installing water service connections to the buildings on Webster Street between Broadway Street and Pacific Avenue this week. Meanwhile saw cutting work also starts on Broadway Street between Webster and Octavia streets.
