Construction work on Webster Street near Union Street. Due to last Saturday’s gas leak incident, Shaw Pipeline, the contractor working for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), was not able to complete its water main work in the intersection at Webster and Union streets.
This Saturday, January 31, the contractor plans to finish the rest of its work at that location. The weekend work is necessary as it’s the only time MUNI can de-energize its Union Street buses so the contractor can work under the bus lines. Work hours will be from 8 am to 6 pm.
A police officer will be on duty during work hours to ensure pedestrian safety and traffic flow. Extra "stay in crosswalk" signs will also be posted at visible corners of the intersection. If you have any questions or suggestions, please comment at
